Description

These cheesecake deviled strawberries combine the sweet juiciness of fresh strawberries with a creamy cheesecake filling for an elegant, bite-sized dessert that’s perfect for parties or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1824 large strawberries
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 2/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Cut off the stems of the strawberries and slice them in half lengthwise. Then, cut a small sliver off the back of each strawberry half so they sit upright without wobbling. Using a small melon baller, carefully hollow out the middle of each strawberry half, creating a small indent to hold the filling securely.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form, approximately 5 minutes. The cream should hold its shape firmly when the beaters are lifted.
  3. Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice (if using). Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is completely smooth and free of lumps.
  4. Combine the Mixtures: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula. Fold until well incorporated, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream. The resulting filling should be light and fluffy.
  5. Fill the Strawberries: Transfer the cheesecake filling to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe a generous amount of the filling onto each prepared strawberry half, creating decorative swirls.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the filled strawberries to complete the cheesecake flavor profile. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Choose firm, ripe strawberries for the best results. Overly soft strawberries won’t hold their shape well.
  • These deviled strawberries can be prepared up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated, but the filling may become slightly soft over time.
  • For an extra touch, you can add a small piece of fresh fruit like blueberry or a mint leaf as additional garnish.
  • To make graham cracker crumbs, place graham crackers in a food processor or put them in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin.
