  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Vegetables

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add diced bell pepper and onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Step 2: Add the Garlic

  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 3: Cook the Chicken

  • Add ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes, until no longer pink.

Step 4: Add Sauce & Seasonings

  • Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Step 5: Toast the Buns

  • While the chicken mixture simmers, toast hamburger buns in a separate skillet or toaster until golden brown.

Step 6: Assemble & Serve

 

  • Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto the bottom halves of the toasted buns.
